Life Essentials Assistance
The Love Fund for Children provides goods and services to any child with an unmet need that has been validated and applied for by a third party youth service professional.
We fulfill the basic needs of Kansas City children by providing items including:
- New clothing and shoes
- Fresh beds and bedding
- Extracurricular fees and gear
- Hygiene items
- Technology and communication devices
- Safety devices

Back To School Supply Drive
Getting a student back to school ready is a challenge for nearly every family, but it’s even more difficult for many Love Fund families. Facing poverty or the overwhelming expenses of caring for special needs children, the soaring cost of school supplies can often be prohibitive.
The Love Fund partners with the community to providing students with the necessities they need to start the school year off.
HOLIDAY PROGRAMS
Thanksgiving
Every year The Love Fund partners with a local elementary school to celebrate Thanksgiving with 50+ youth who are facing extreme challenges. The Love Fund provides children an evening of food and fun where kids can just be kids. Each family leaves with food to help fill in the gap when school is not in session as well as a backpack of gifts and cold weather necessities.
SACK IT FOR SANTA
Sack It for Santa helps ensure disadvantaged teens ages 12–18 aren’t forgotten during the holidays. These young people often face difficult circumstances and have limited resources available to meet their unique needs. Each year, Sack It for Santa provides individualized gifts while also helping families with basic necessities they may otherwise struggle to afford.
The Love Fund for Children, local businesses, FOX4 viewers, and caring community members come together to fill gift bags. Each bag is thoughtfully prepared and distributed to metro-area teens through a trusted network of youth advocates, bringing hope, dignity, and holiday joy to young people who need it most.
SHOP WITH THE LOVE FUND
The Love Fund partners with Walmart and corporate sponsors to provide local children with transportation, dinner and a night of shopping with Love Fund volunteers. Children are required to select some basic items like clothes or shoes, but they are able to spend the majority of their budget on special holiday gifts they otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to purchase. For many the highlight of the evening is a sack full of toys, some take pleasure in selecting holiday gifts for family members, and for others it’s getting to spend time with the heroes that make this event possible.
