Equipping More than School Supplies

Every child deserves to start the school year feeling prepared and ready to learn. A backpack filled with school supplies may seem simple, but for a child in need, it can represent something much bigger—confidence, opportunity, and a fresh start.



Love Fund for Children works with the Kansas City Public Schools Education Foundation to distribute 5,000 backpacks annually at KCPSFest. The Love Fund also partners with Kansas City youth advocates to identify non-KCPS students in the metropolitan area whose school supply needs are not met through other available resources. These 1,400+ additional children receive supplies through the Love Fund’s community distribution event. 

For many families, the cost of notebooks, backpacks, pencils, folders, and other classroom essentials can become a significant burden. Your generosity can help make sure a child's financial circumstances don't stand in the way of their education.
