Meet Onyx
Meet Onyx

After a comprehensive needs assessment with youth advocates and medical professionals, the Love Fund redesigned and officially resumed its funding for therapy assistance in 2026. Three-year-old Onyx is one of the many children benefiting from this renewed support.
Onyx, who is on the Autism Spectrum, thrives on frequent Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. These critical sessions help him build communication skills, gain independence, and foster social connections while reducing challenging behaviors. However, because Onyx did not qualify for Medicaid waivers, his family was paying for his care entirely out-of-pocket.
His physician indicated continuous access to these services was crucial for Onyx’s development. Uninterrupted therapy was essential to build on the incredible progress he already made.
To our Love Fund supporters: thank you! Your generosity directly improved the quality of life for little Onyx while easing a heavy financial burden for his family.
“Navigating life with a child who has a disability is never easy. There are new challenges every single day, and sometimes it can feel like we are constantly trying to figure out the next step to keep him on track for success in his life. That’s why finally getting a ‘win’ like this means so much to our family. Your help gives us some much-needed breathing room when it comes to the cost of therapy. Thank you again for seeing our family, for helping us when we needed it. We are sincerely and incredibly grateful.”
